Expedition Noir
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Story
A violent thunderstorm rages in the mountains. You're cold, wet, and alone. Good thing you brought your flashlight. Not good for you, the flashlight is quickly fading and a narrow, treacherous path winding up the cliffs lies between you and the dormant beacon at the top.
Long ago, this beacon served as a signal to lost travelers and remote towns tucked into the valleys below. Tonight, it must be reignited.
You don’t know who sent the call. You only know it’s your responsibility to answer it.
This is your expedition. One muddy step at a time.
Gameplay
Expedition Noir is a slow-paced, walking simulator with light platforming and survival mechanics. Your task is simple: climb the mountain and light the beacon. In your way stand crumbling ledges, deep chasms, and the total absence of light.
-
A flashlight is your only guide, but its battery is limited.
-
Batteries are scattered along the path. They're subtle, hidden, and easy to miss.
-
Flashes of lightning, briefly illuminate your surroundings.
-
Missteps will be fatal. The road is narrow, damaged, and linear.
-
There are no enemies, no combat. It's just you and the mountain.

Will You Reach the Beacon?
You won’t be rewarded with riches or praise. No one will see you succeed.
But if you make it—if you light the beacon—someone might see it in the dark.
And that just might be enough.
